Who we are and what we do
Clinical Health Appraisals, Inc. (CHA) will be known as the best provider of health and wellness screenings in California. We will develop relationships with many large and small businesses, marketing wellness services throughout California. CHA will actively promote lifestyle changes to prevent common health concerns that plague so many in the workforce today.
CHA's mission is to provide innovative and convenient wellness screenings and vaccinations for companies to enhance and improve the quality of life of their working population. We aim to consistently provide caring, responsive, and informative service. CHA promises to provide wellness screenings in a way that is both cost-efficient for our clients along with a personal touch to help employees strive to be well and productive.
CHA utilizes a variety of professional contractors with medical experience and wisdom to provide the highest quality service for the corporate workplace. Among our contracted staff are Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Phlebotomists, Medical Assistants, Health Educators, Nutritionists, Certified Massage Therapists, and Emergency Medical Technicians.
A native of Sacramento, California, Mike attended John F. Kennedy High School and Sacramento City College. In 1977, he was awarded a sports scholarship to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, subsequently graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. He also attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, where he earned a Master of Arts in Kinesiology and Biomechanics.
Mike’s joys in life are his wife Vicky, their children, grandchildren, faith, sports, and the success of his unique company.

In 1992, Mike Otto saw the need to reach employee groups with on-site wellness screenings.
“So many times, people get wrapped up in their work to the point that they don’t prioritize the need to take care of themselves.”
Mike realized that he could bring wellness screenings and health education to the workplace, resulting in healthier and happier employees. In turn, employees would take less time off in the long run for illness or injury. Thus, Clinical Health Appraisals was born!
CHA utilizes over 60 independent contractors of various health professions, some of whom have been conducting employee wellness screenings and education since the company’s earliest days nearly 20 years ago. Our contractors not only convey the message of healthy living, but strive to achieve it in their everyday lives as well. They are highly personable and their ability to relate with everyone from field laborers to executives makes them our most valuable resource.
